Toronto, ON, 2001 – As the owner and manager of a newly formed transportation company experiencing rapid growth, it became evident that we could no longer rely on manual processes. The time had come to find a suitable TMS (Transportation Management System) to streamline our operations and administrative tasks.

After reviewing various available solutions and consulting with business partners, many of whom were frustrated with inadequate or poorly suited software, it became clear that a custom solution was necessary. Drawing from my years of experience both as an employee and a business owner, I was inspired to create my own solution. At that time, our operations were managing over 150 shipments per day, with a small team that included my partner and two additional staff members. Together, we provided reliable transportation services for our customers while managing all the other essential aspects of running a transportation business.

The newly developed application provided a range of solutions. It enabled us to create prompt and accurate invoices, significantly reducing user errors. It also allowed us to scale our operations to over 250 shipments per day without needing to increase our staff, thus minimizing manual tasks and eliminating user errors.

Vancouver, BC, 2009 – After relocating to the West Coast, I worked with various carriers and explored different TMS applications. It soon became apparent that our homegrown TMS had a place in the industry and could deliver the same positive results for other carriers as it had for us in Toronto.

A modernized version of our app was developed, incorporating several new features designed for LTL (Less Than Truckload) operations, such as multiple terminal configurations, dispatching capabilities, line haul operations, a mobile app, and a customer web portal. This new product was officially announced in early 2010, and our first sale was completed in May 2010.

The TMS quickly gained traction, and within the first five years, MSB Solution acquired eight more accounts, all of whom are still using our TMS solution today.

Montreal, QC, 2018 – Once again, we relocated, this time to Quebec, and refocused our efforts on the Ontario/Quebec TMS market. In the first four years, MSB Solution successfully added four more clients to our TMS portfolio. However, the pandemic brought significant challenges and caused a temporary slowdown in our growth. It was a difficult period for everyone, but we persevered. 

Montreal, QC, 2023 – With new prospects emerging for our TMS, it became clear that it was time to expand our team. In collaboration with Bis Consulting, MSB Solution formed a new company called 3MZ Solutions, and we rebranded our TMS as Director TMS, officially launching it in May 2024. This newly formed partnership took Director TMS to new heights, bringing fresh expertise and valuable resources to support both our existing customers and future prospects.

Today, Director TMS is managed by a dedicated team of four senior officers, supported by a talented staff of 48 professionals with diverse experience in software development.

Director TMS has come a long way from its humble beginnings. What started as a solution for a single transportation company has now grown into a powerful and scalable system serving many clients in the transportation industry. We are excited about the future and the continued growth of Director TMS.
